Dear friends,
Our congregation and community condemn the attack last night on the Quebec City mosque, a sacred place of prayer. We are deeply shocked and grief-struck by this act of violence.
The sanctity of human life is an essential teaching of the Torah. It is a basic assumption of civil society that the sanctity of places of worship must be respected and protected.
The members of Beth Tzedec Congregation convey our deep sympathy to the families of the victims and our solidarity with the Muslim community of Quebec City. We stand together.
