One of the hallmarks of Beth Tzedec is our commitment to Jewish learning. Torah study flows into meetings and social programming, prayer, hesed projects, engagement with Israel and other Diaspora communities, young professional programs, gatherings of senior citizens, youth and family activities, library lectures and museum exhibits, pre-school and congregational school, times of celebration and of sadness and communal events.
Beth Tzedec has a full range of educational programs, starting with babies just a few months old and continuing on through adulthood. We provide learning activities every day of the week. We emphasize family-based education, seeing parents as partners with our school programs and giving them the tools to raise Jewish children in a modern world. Our adult seminars range from Hebrew language and Torah study to history, politics and literature. Our methodology stresses intellectual challenge as well as inspired engagement. We seek to create a place and context for children and adults to explore their tradition and faith. We also see study as a way to encourage new friendships.
Our family education programs, Bar/Bat Mitzvah activities, scholar-in-residence weekends, weekly classes and inspiring and informative public presentations are all part of what makes us a learning congregation. We welcome you to join us to grow in wisdom, open your eyes to wonder and deepen your Jewish commitment.
In December 2016, the Board of Governors approved a "Strategic Plan Structure" identifying our mission, vision and strategies guiding our direction.
