Beth Tzedec Congregation has a long and illustrious history as The Music Synagogue of Toronto. And today, we honour past traditions by presenting opportunities to gather, celebrate, reflect, honour and remember through song.
Beth Tzedec is thrilled to present Divas on the Bima on Monday, June 19 at &;30 p.m. our next concert event—a night of song inspiration and celebration. The Divas—Cantors Jen Cohen, Magdalena Fishman, Alisa Pomerantz-Boro and Elizabeth Shammash—have hosted many performances through the United States. Join them as they perform an eclectic selection of Judaic, Broadway music, songs of Israel and popular music on our stage.

Divas on the Bima
A Night of Song
Beth Tzedec is thrilled to present Divas on the Bima for a night of song inspiration and celebration. The Divas—Cantors Jen Cohen, Magdalena Fishman, Alisa Pomerantz-Boro and Elizabeth Shammash—have hosted many performances through the United States. Join them as they perform an eclectic selection of Judaic, Broadway music, songs of Israel and popular music on our stage.

Jen Cohen began her career living in Nashville, TN and toured the United States with her band. She serves as Cantor of Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill NJ.
Magdalena Fishman was both a singer and trumpet player in the Israeli Defense Forces before making her way to New York to pursue musical theatre and jazz and founding her band, Shorashim. Magdalena is the Cantor at B'nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton FL.
Alisa Pomerantz-Boro comes from a rabbinic and musical family, and has deep roots in cantorial, folk and popular music. She is the H̱azzan at Congregation Beth El in Voorhees NJ.
Elizabeth Shammash is classically trained and enjoyed an operatic, concert and recital career before formally training as a cantor. Lizzie is the Cantor at Temple Adath Israel in Philadelphia.
