Beth Tzedec is pleased to welcome Rabbi Shai Held, President and Dean at the Hadar Institute, alongside our Spiritual Leadership, for a Selichot Shabbat scholar weekend, including a Friday night service, community dinner and talk, a Shabbat morning presentation from the bimah and Saturday night Selichot service.

Friday evening at 6:00 p.m.

Join us for a musical Kabbalat Shabbat Service featuring Maestro Meir Briskman, Cantor Moshe Fishel and the Lishmoa El Harina Choir as we gather to celebrate the coming High Holy Days with an inspiring and meaningful Service followed by a delicious catered dinner. Rabbi Shai Held, our Shabbat scholar, will speak on the topic "Turning Suffering into Love: The Bible's Great Moral Revolution".

Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.

Rabbi Held joins us at our Shabbat Sanctuary services where he will give a pulpit address on "Love in the Ruins: Responding to Devastation (and to October 7)". A community Kiddush follows services. Everyone is welcome.

Saturday night at 10:30 p..m.

Rabbi Shai Held concludes his Shabbat weekend with Beth Tzedec at an inspiring Selichot Service on the theme Am Echad, Lev Echad; One Heart, One People. The Service features insightful readings and kavanot by Rabbi Held. Our Spiritual Leadership Team—Rabbi Steven Wernick, Rabbi Fryer Bodzin, Cantor Sidney Ezer, Lorne Hanick and Aviva Chernick—will lead the Service. A dessert reception follow.
