We Will Dance Again Premiere Film Screening

Sunday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Friendship, love, and freedom—these ideals drew young hearts from around the globe to Nova’s EDM music festival in south Israel. But as the sun rose on October 7, the fantasy shattered. Rockets sliced through the sky, and the music cut off. Confusion morphed into terror as gunfire erupted amidst the chaos. Hamas terrorists breached the border fence and unleashed barbarity in its rawest form.

Periphery Exhibit Opening

Thursday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m.

  • Join us at Beth Tzedec for the opening of the Periphery Exhibit, an evocative photographic and film project that celebrates ethnic diversity in the Jewish community. This exhibit opening event will feature music from the Jewish diaspora with Beth Tzedec's Aviva Chernick alongside Gisun and Jesse Levy. Periphery project reps Sara Yacobi-Harris and Akilah Allen-Silverstein and documentary participant Asha Allen-Silverstein will speak about the exhibit.

Na'aleh Toronto Jewish Mindfulness Collective

Beginning Sunday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m.

  • Na’aleh is a collective of Jewish mindfulness practitioners and leaders who are building a Jewish mindfulness community in Toronto and surrounding areas.

    Our team is excited to launch our first series—an arc of four programs offered throughout this year, 5785 (2024-2025), each delving into mindfulness practices and Jewish spiritual wisdom to prepare for an upcoming Jewish holiday.

Empowering Communities Through Education

  • Beth Tzedec is pleased to partner with Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in presenting Michal Cotler-Wunsh, Israel's special envoy for combatting antisemitism, in conversation with the Honourable Linda Frum for a discussion opportunity on empowering communities through education.

Selichot Scholar Weekend with Rabbi Shai Held

  • Beth Tzedec is pleased to welcome Rabbi Shai Held, President and Dean at the Hadar Institute, alongside our Spiritual Leadership, for a Selichot Shabbat scholar weekend, including a Friday night service, community dinner and talk, a Shabbat morning presentation from the bimah and Saturday night Selichot service. Friday dinner by pre-registration only.

Friday, September 27 at 6:00 p.m.

  • Join us for a musical Kabbalat Shabbat Service featuring Maestro Meir Briskman, Cantor Moshe Fishel and the Lishmoa El Harina Choir as we gather to celebrate the coming High Holy Days with an inspiring and meaningful Service followed by a delicious catered dinner. Rabbi Shai Held, our Shabbat scholar, will speak on the topic "Turning Suffering into Love: The Bible's Great Moral Revolution".
