WOW!! Beth Tzedec’s Congregational School Introduces Exciting New Programs
Sep 10th 2013

We are thrilled to announce that the BT Congregational School has been awarded funding from the Toronto WOW! Project for the launch of three exciting programs for this year.

  1. We are immediately introducing a newly developed holiday-themed curriculum for Grade 3 focussed on experiential learning. Students will be engaged in individual and group projects designed for many different learning styles and levels. We are proud to have been selected as the Beta site to launch this new program in Toronto, as we believe this program will help revolutionize Jewish supplementary school education.
  2.  For Grades 4 to 7, a new Hug, activities-based program is being launched that offers students 10 hours annually of in-depth experiential learning, exploring visual arts, performing arts, music and other activities, integrated with creating varied Jewish-themed projects. Each of the modules will be facilitated by guest educators from the community who are experts in their fields, working hands-on with the students.
  3. Recognizing the geographic and scheduling challenges of our families, we will be piloting a live online Hebrew tutorial for those students in Grades 4 to 7 who are unable to attend in-person classes at Beth Tzedec. Using new virtual classroom technology, students will be able to participate in classes from their own homes, while still interacting live with their teacher and classmates.

A dynamic initiative generously supported by the Wolfe Flatt Family Fund, UJA Federation’s WOW! Project is designed to engage greater numbers of children and families in supplementary Jewish education. We are proud to recognize our own long time engaged and involved members, Harold Wolfe and Phyllis Flatt and their families, who have made the WOW! Project possible and have helped to ensure Beth Tzedec’s participation.

Experience these high-quality, meaningful, fun and innovative programs and share them with your friends and family outside of Beth Tzedec. All members of the community are welcome to enroll.
