A Message from the President

We are delighted to announce that Cantor Moshe Fishel, a dynamic young Israeli talent, will lead our Sanctuary Service for this year’s High Holy Day Services. Cantor Fishel has spent the past five years as Cantor of the Great Synagogue of Munich. He was a star student of the School of Chazanut and Jewish Music in Israel, and the Board of Governors is thrilled that he will be leading and engaging our Congregation in prayer for this year’s High Holy Day Services.

Cantor Fishel will be joined for the services by the renowned conductor, Meir Briskman. We are sure that you will be moved as you experience the Toronto debut of Meir’s Lishmoa El Harina Ensemble – a new choir of women and men he is assembling for the Holy Day Services. Originally from Israel, Meir Briskman has undergraduate degrees in composition and conducting as well as a graduate degree in conducting from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance.

This year’s High Holy Days will be a fresh step into the future and the first to finding a new Senior Hazzan to join our own outstanding Cantor Sidney Ezer. Beth Tzedec has committed itself to being “The Music Synagogue of Toronto” and we look forward to continuing this tradition.

To “meet” Moshe and Meir, our fabulous M&M duo, please see the links to their personal websites. We look forward to joining our voices together in prayer and filling our shul with music.
