Engagement Intern
Beth Tzedec is searching for a high energy Engagement
Intern who will be focusing on engagement and communication with young adults aged 18-39.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Updating contact information for over 1000 members
that fit into this category
2. Organizing and facilitating one on one
conversations, parlour meetings, surveys and both formal and informal
gatherings to learn more about their needs and alert them about our ongoing
activities
3. Helping to coordinate and promote a music- themed weekend.
4. Managing our social media tools specifically for this
age cohort
5. Planning and implementing summer programs that will engage this cohort
6. Supporting the planning of High Holiday experiences for this cohort
Requirements:
• Full time student aged 18-30 and planning on continuing full time studies next year in a college, university or technical school
• Ease with social media
• Good attentive listening skills
Salary: 30 hours per week, $12 per hour for up to 8 weeks, beginning as early as July 4th.

Hesed/ Social Action Intern
The Hesed/ Social Action Intern will focus on Beth Tzedec
initiatives that support marginalized community members and/ or that have a
clear social justice mandate.
The responsibilities will include:
1. Offering staff support for our Syrian Refugee
Sponsorship Group
2. Providing direct support and visits to the Syrian refugee
family who we have applied to sponsor upon their arrival
3. Visiting between
5-10 elderly members who are in hospital, long-term care facilities or have
limited mobility
4. Support our rabbi on inclusion initiatives for disabled
Members 5. Supporting the coordination of a community organizing conference and
a bikur cholim-visiting the sick series.
Requirements:
• Full time student aged 18-30 and planning on continuing full time studies next year in a college, university or technical school
• Comfort with visiting sick and elderly individuals
• Good attentive listening skills
Salary: 30 hours per week, $12 per hour for up to 8 weeks, beginning as early as July 4th.

Museum Intern
The responsibilities will include:
1. The candidate will be helping with research with the Museum Curator and Museum Volunteers on an exhibition focusing on Jewish Restaurants in Toronto, to be opened in 2017
2. The intern will create a small program/exhibit marking the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation.
3. The student will have the opportunity to learn about a world renowned collection of Judaica and occasionally to tour visitors through the museum and the sanctuary.
4. Day to day activities in the museum include accessioning new artifacts, creating labels and texts, photography of the collection, and general office duties.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will be knowledgeable about the Jewish holidays and life cycle. She/he will have excellent computer skills an outgoing personality, independent work habits and enjoy collaborating with others.
The candidate will be working toward a post graduate degree in history, museum studies or a related discipline. Undergrads will be considered also.
Salary: 30 hours per week, $11.25 per hour for up to 8 weeks, beginning as early as July 4th.
