Beth Tzedec Congregation stands united with the Jewish community in condemning the murders at the Centre Culturel Islamique de Quebec. Rabbis Frydman-Kohl and Cutler have reached out to their Muslim friends, sharing our sorrow and solidarity.
Public support from allies and friends is without parallel in providing comfort and strength. We will gather at the Islamic Foundation of Toronto (441 Nugget Ave., Scarborough) on Friday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m., during their Friday Jumah prayers, as a sign of friendship and rejection of violence. Please join fellow Jews in this important event.
Beth Tzedec has a long-standing, warm relationship with the Islamic Foundation of Toronto. This centre has also sent youth delegations to Beth Tzedec where they have learned about Judaism and participated in social action projects. If you cherish a Canadian society that values tolerance, freedom and diversity, please join us.
This will be an apolitical, quiet gathering. Signs containing messages of peace and against hate, especially with Hebrew writing, are welcome.
