The song Mi Lo Yavoh by the talented Israeli artists Avraham Tal and Benaia Barabi, was written and inspired by the beginning of their friendship. The two met for the first time on the reality TV show "The Voice Israel", when Avraham was Benaya's mentor. They became friends, got to travel Asia together and write and perform songs together.
In the song, they talk about the journeys that they have been through together, the way everything they have been through together made them stronger, and celebrate it. When they say "who won't come to sing and celebrate with us", what they actually mean to say is that they are sure that everyone around them will come to celebrate them and their friendship journey.
I chose this song for this month's Shirat HaH̱odesh because I feel a very strong connection to this song in this chapter of my life. I came here ine months ago with 17 more ShinShinim beside me. We have been through this incredible journey together, and many others have joined along the way. Now that my year here in Toronto is very sadly almost over, I want to say that I am grateful for this amazing journey, and all of the amazing people I met along the way who never failed to stand by me, take care of me and, most importantly, celebrate all the time!
I hope that this month will be a great one, and hope you will like the song!
