Last night, I joined a group from Beth Tzedec as we welcomed the Syrian refugee family that our shul sponsored as they arrived at Toronto's Pierson International Airport following a 17 hour bus ride and flight from Ankara. There were a couple of other groups there waiting for "their family" to arrive. The family, who was reuniting with their own family members in Toronto, was gracious and thankful, exhausted and overwhelmed. This effort and the small piece that I played is zechut that I hope to carry to Olam Habbah. Beth Tzedec looks forward to providing ongoing support to Canada's newest residents.
