With great pride, Beth Tzedec is pleased to thank Mary Ellen Herman for a commitment to the Congregation that will see the main floor banquet hall named the Michael and Mary Ellen Herman Banquet Hall. Norman Bacal, chair of the Beth Tzedec Development Committee, made the announcement on Shavuot before the entire Congregation.

In memory of her late husband Michaelz”l, and in recognition of the great contributions to further their connection to Judaism and the Jewish People, Mary Ellen was moved by the work of the Congregation and most notably Rav Baruch. Her leadership commitment is an example to all who have enjoyed a relationship with the Congregation and benefited from its generations of leadership.

“The dedication of and naming of the Michael and Mary Ellen Herman Banquet Hall—Herman Hall—a place of simẖah, celebration of life moments and joyous occasions, is a testament to her vision and heart”, noted Sheldon Rotman, President. “We all thank Mary Ellen; an incredible woman who leads by example, always supporting and attending our programs, lectures and events.”

The Congregation wishes Mary Ellen and her family that all the blessings of good health be bestowed upon them. The official dedication of the Michael and Mary Ellen Herman Banquet Hall will take place at a later date.
