Apr 20th 2023

Beth Tzedec is making a major move toward meeting the needs of our growing Congregation. We are delighted to announce that Cantor Audrey Klein has accepted the position of Beth Tzedec’s Director of Family and Young Adult Engagement, beginning in July.

Cantor Klein will be the spiritual and administrative lead for family programming at Beth Tzedec. In her new role, she will develop personal relationships with a community of more than 800 households of adults 25 to 40 years old and their families, helping inspire this next generation of Beth Tzedec members to live meaningful Jewish lives.

This new position comes as the latest in a series of recent strategic hires that will support our successful introduction of the Generations Membership.Having joined Beth Tzedec through the Generations Membership, Cantor Klein knows first-hand how our Congregation can appeal to young families.

Carrying a deep appreciation for the link between family, community, and spirituality, Cantor Klein has dedicated her life to sharing joyful connections. Her career includes experience at two prominent Toronto synagogues, Temple Emanu-El and Temple Sinai. She currently sits on the Executive Board of the Women Cantors’ Network and co-chaired their annual conference in 2018.

Hailing originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio, Cantor Klein is a graduate of the Theatre Program at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She received her cantorial ordination and master’s degree in Jewish Education from Hebrew College in Newton, MA. Cantor Klein resides in midtown Toronto with her husband Josh, a native Torontonian, and daughter Nora.

Our new Director of Family and Young Adult Engagement is a key outreach role. Cantor Klein will ensure that new members are brought into the fold and given a deeper connection to their Jewish journey through Beth Tzedec. With young families increasingly moving to the area, now is the time to grow our team and better serve this growing segment of our Congregation.

We look forward to welcoming Cantor Klein and her family this summer.
