Youth Director Job Description
Beth Tzedec Congregation is seeking a Youth Director within our Youth and Family Programming department.
A full-time position, the primary role of the Youth Director is to be the face and voice for youth and teen programming for the Congregation. Objectives include maximizing participation and the ongoing engagement of our youth population and their families. The Youth Director must be a skilled relationship-builder, able to market to, engage and connect with children, teens and parents from diverse backgrounds, be dynamic and energetic with a warm personality and have a commitment to Jewish living. The Youth Director is expected to communicate effectively and responsibly with parents of youth.
Working closely with Committees involved in youth and family programming, the Youth Director will be directly supervised by the Director of Education and Family Programming.
The responsibilities of the Youth Director will include deepening the connection between the synagogue and its youth and teen population by creating new opportunities for engagement as well as the following:

Overseeing the design, development and delivery of Shabbat morning and Festival programs for youth – Nursery, Tot Shabbat, Jr. Congregation, etc;

Overseeing the design, development and delivery of youth programs (Senior Kindergarten through High School);

Developing the Teen Engagement Committee, empowering teens to take ownership of their programming so that programming expands in both volume and participation numbers;

Working with the Director of Education and Family Programming on the coordination of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program, including organizing logistics and planning a Shabbaton;

Reaching out to graduates of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah Program with further opportunities for engagement as a graduate cohort;

Working with the Director of Education and Family Programming on communication, logistics and programming for Young Family Services, family programming, and family Festival celebrations;

Working with the Director of Education and Family Programming and Clergy on the coordination of High Holy Day youth programming and Young Families Services.
S/he will also liaise with other Youth Directors and organizations to develop partnerships that will provide exposure and promotion of Beth Tzedec programs. In addition the Youth Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with Robbins Hebrew Academy, Camp Ramah in Canada, United Synagogue Youth and other Jewish Day Schools, summer camps and youth and community organizations where Beth Tzedec youth and their families participate.
