Out of the Cold
Each week, Beth Tzedec/Beth Sholoms Out of the Cold Program welcomes approximately 100 guests from our community—the majority of whom are facing food insecurity—with care, compassion and connection. Guests are offered a hot dinner , musical entertainment , clothing distribution, an art program, BINGO and bagged lunches.
The program runs on Mondays at Beth Sholom Synagogue, restarting in January 2027.

Out of the Cold Art Show
The Art Circle, Out of the Cold’s one-of-a-kind art initiative which began in 2010, has empowered many of those who partake in the program. The participants, many of whom would otherwise not have access to art materials are given the opportunity to express themselves artistically. Most of the participants have a vast and complicated range of life experiences. The art program, guided by talented volunteers allows them to forget about their life stresses, if only for a few hours each week and helps to boost their self-esteem.
An annual show features the work of the guests who use our Out of the Cold program. The artists receive 90% of the sale of their work. This year’s Out of the Cold Art Show & Sale was a great success, and we look forward to welcoming you again next year.
