Community Outreach

Whether it’s time, resources, or knowledge, giving can be an act of tzedakah, chesed and tikkun olam. Beth Tzedec fosters an environment where people feel safe to ask for help and encouraged to perform mitzvot.

Out of the Cold: How You Can Help

Beth Tzedec and Beth Sholom are proud to partner in the Out of the Cold program, offering care and dignity to those in need during the winter months.

While volunteer registration is now closed for this year, your support still matters. Each week, we welcome about 100 guests with a hot meal, live music, bingo, art programs, and essential items like warm clothing and hygiene products.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

  • Donate adult winter clothing: The distribution of warm clothing is one of the most essential services we provide to our guests. We greatly appreciate your clothing donations. Please note that we only accept new or nearly-new adult-sized items, and only the following items: down coats, ski jackets, parkas, snow pants, sweaters, hoodies, sweatshirts, sweat pants, flannel shirts, short and long-sleeved t-shirts, blue jeans, corduroy pants, winter boots, hiking boots, running shoes, thermal underwear, gloves and mitts. Brand new underwear and sports bras are needed as well. Clothing can be dropped off at Beth Sholom Synagogue anytime from Monday to Thursday between 9 am and 4 pm.
  • Contribute funds to help us provide meals, supplies and transportation assistance.

Together, we can bring warmth, hope, and connection to our community.

For more information or to make a financial contribution to the Out of the Cold Fund, contact the Synagogue office at 416-781-3511.
