Learn Talmud with Reb Steve

Honi drew a circle in the dirt and refused to step out of it until it rained.
Our Talmud learning opens a new tractate this fall: Masekhet Ta’anit, Chapter Three—the Talmud at its most human. Drought and fasting, rainmakers and rooftop sages, ordinary people whose prayers were answered when the scholars’ were not. Underneath it all sits a question we know: what do we do when heaven seems silent?
No Hebrew or Aramaic needed. We read together and we argue together—whether you’ve been learning with us for years or you’re opening a page of Talmud for the first time.
