Event Series: Grieving Together

Grieving Together for Those Who Have Lost Partners

May 28 @ 2:45 pm

Led by Rabbi Fryer Bodzin and Yacov Fruchter.

Please join us for our three-part Grieving Together support group for people who have lost partners.

There are moments in life that divide time into before and after. The loss of a spouse is one of them.

In the days and months that follow, the world continues, but often not in the way it once did. Familiar rhythms shift. Silence can feel heavier. And even surrounded by community, it can still feel like no one quite understands the particular shape of your loss.

And yet, in our tradition, we are never meant to carry grief alone.

Our sages teach that there is a time to weep and a time to speak, a time to remember and a time simply to sit in the presence of others. With that in mind, we want to invite you to a small, three-part bereavement group for those in our community who have lost a spouse in the past year.

This will be a space of gentleness and honesty, a space where you can speak if you wish, or simply listen; where stories can be shared, or quietly held. Together, we will draw on the wisdom of our tradition—texts, prayers, and the rhythms of Jewish life—not to explain away grief, but to help hold it, and perhaps, over time, to find moments of meaning and connection within it.

If this feels like something that might offer even a small measure of support, we hope you will consider joining us. Please click HERE to register. A minimum of six people is required for this group to be successful.

And if not now, perhaps at another time—please know the invitation remains open.

May you be held with compassion, and may the memories of your beloved be a source of blessing.

Presented as part of the Beth Tzedec Centre for Spiritual Well-Being
